I think people need to lighten up on Matthew in general particularly in this episode. He’s killing it with the jokes and Joe and Grant keep overreacting. I really enjoy the show but the constant jabs at him for doing the same thing that everyone else does is a bit hypocritical.

You know, I was listening and I was just waiting for joe to realize that… four bears has that new ability to rewind time. literally he could plain out PREVENT THE CRIT but…I’m not sure that this text has come in time. adding insult to injury I guess at this point

Unfortunately the ability only applies to a D20 that Joe had rolled. It would be wonderful if Joe could prevent Troy’s crit. If only they could use a bottle cap to disadvantage Troy’s roll to confirm the crit.

Didn’t the PC’s take his lance after his defeat in the first encounter?, with intention to re-size it for Sir Will?

Was the strength reduced for the removal of the belt.?

Add they took his chain shirt +3, so his charging AC should be even less and Joe should have made that Reflex save.

No buffs for AC? 1 point of ac could have saved him. No stoneskin? Did you check previous episodes to make sure you had your buffs listed? Do you all recall the buffs the forge at Minderhals Valley that it can bestow on you? I do recall you forgot the trip on the last giant you fought because it had swarm on him. Also Feraza forgot her dust form she had on last episode

Right? All the fun of being high level…

They kind of deserved this. Why would you walk around a dungeon without being top HP? Even for RP reasons, you use those charges – they are so cheap at these levels.

This makes no sense, unless Joe wants to bring back in Sir Will.

Just as a fun FYI, when you take a penalty to your ability scores you may lose the ability to cast spells you don’t qualify for, along with any bonus spells you have based on your high spellcasting modifier. so if Fairaza had a wisdom of 20 and now its 17, she can only cast level 7 spells and below. If they take another -3 that will drop again, and at some point that con will reach 0 and everyone dies. TPK campaign over, now you can finish rise of the runelords.

I was thinking the same thing about Pembrook. Will he still be able to cast teleport, now that his Int is at -6?

It’s not Ability Damage, the actual score does not change. And, from the spell:
“If the subject is prevented from obeying the geas/quest for 24 hours, it takes a -3 penalty to each of its ability scores. Each day, another -3 penalty accumulates, up to a total of -12. No ability score can be reduced to less than 1 by this effect. The ability score penalties are removed 24 hours after the subject resumes obeying the geas/quest.”

But didn’t it affect his CON score, reducing his HP and affecting his Savings Throw (he rolled 24 needed 25)?
